Watermarc Greenborough’s internal structural steelwork is exposed to constant moisture and strong oxidising agents and is therefore protected from corrosion with a coating system comprising Zincanode 402 zinc‑rich primer, a Duremax GPE epoxy barrier coat, and a Luxathane® R two‑pack polyurethane topcoat (now superseded by Luxathane® HPX) for aesthetics and graffiti resistance.The broadwall areas are protected with Enviropoxy WBE water borne epoxy.

Chemicals evolved include hydrogen sulphide and methane. Protection against constant wear-and-tear, and chemical attack was provided in this case by Durebild HSE high solids epoxy.
