SCT Locomotives in Port Augusta required a quick and easy external repaint, and given the low to medium corrosivity environment and moderate durability requirements, a single pack system was appropriate. The steel was primed with Metalshield® HB ZP Primer and topcoated with a silicone enamel topcoat, Metalshield® Premium.

Externals of water treatment tanks require protection against corrosion (or spalling, in the case of concrete tanks) and UV radiation. Water treatment tanks are usually painted in a dark green to help the tank "blend in" visually with the environment.

The restoration of Sydney's landmark Shell House required 2500 tonnes of steel to be protected against both fire and corrosion with a specialised intumescent coating.

Originally known as Shell House, 1 Spring Street Melbourne is a major office tower in Melbourne, designed by renown modernist Architect, Harry Seidler. Construction of Shell House was completed in 1989, and is managed by CBRE Property Management. This building is of architectural significance, and is listed on the Victorian Heritage database. The busy basement carpark services the 28 storey building, so to minimise disruption for the occupants, the floor was primed with DULUX Duremax® GPE using Quickturn Hardener, and topcoated in DULUX Luxafloor® FCF fast cure floor coating. The colour chosen was AS2700 N35 Light Grey. The floor was ready to receive vehicles the day after application was completed, and stands up to regular cleaning well.

The Sibelco - Kunwarara Mine is subject to abrasion, impact and dust. The steelwork is protected with Duremax GFX glass flake epoxy.

Silo Park in Wynyard Quarter features a long, steel walkway protected against corrosive salt-laden breezes from the Auckland waterfront with Zincanode 402 zinc rich epoxy and Ferreko No 3, a two pack epoxy micaceous iron oxide barrier and topcoat.
