Chemicals evolved include hydrogen sulphide and methane. Protection against constant wear-and-tear, and chemical attack was provided in this case by Duremax GPE general purpose epoxy.

The Medibank Building's loading dock floor had a limited shutdown window of the Easter Long weekend to lightly grind the floor and apply two coats of Luxafloor FCF. Upon revisiting the site, security stated that 100-150 delivery trucks traverse and reverse park on the floor daily and it gets cleaned daily with a ride on mechanical scrubber. So far, there is no visual degradation to the coating.
