The Kempsey Amenities Block's sandstone block walls are protected against defacement by graffiti with Surfaceshield HD, an invisible surface treatment that prevents the penetration of graffiti, allowing the graffiti to be removed with moderate pressure hot water wash and graffiti removal agents. The sandstone's appearance is unaltered by the surface treatment, which prevents water ingress and water staining, yet allows the sandstone to breathe.
