Installed in the rainforest town of Mossman in Far North Queensland – home to the iconic saltwater crocodile – the recreational track was commissioned by the Douglas Shire Council.
Australian company World Trail designed and constructed the track, which features rollers, banked turns and other features designed to be ridden by riders ‘pumping’ (generating momentum by up and down body movements, rather than pedalling).
World Trail approached Dulux® Protective Coatings via the Dulux® Trade Centre in Cairns. Through excellent customer service and teamwork, a new account was created and Dulux® Roadmaster® A1 was selected as the solution to their coating requirements.
World Trail designer and civil engineer Daniel Snelgrove said the deciding factors were Roadmaster’s durability, price point and high visibility when applied to asphalt.
As well as creating a high-impact and fun experience for users, the product provides an additional seal to protect the asphalt from damage, Mr Snelgrove said.
