The facility is owned by Linfox, one of the largest privately-owned logistics companies in Australia. The builder of the facility was Qanstruct, a leading construction company in Australia with a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget. The structural steel columns and beams used in the construction of the new shed were coated with a high-quality coating system.
Coating System and Applicator
The applicator of the coating system was Genis Steel, a leading coating contractor in the industry. The coating system used on the external mild steel surfaces of the facility comprised a single coat at 75-micron layer of Dulux® Metalshield® High Build ZP Primer.
Metalshield High Build ZP Primer is a single pack, anti-corrosive primer used for the protection of steel in mild industrial and commercial environments. The product is high build compared to other single pack primers and contains zinc phosphate, which provides added protection against corrosion. The coating system offers fast dry time, with the primer touch dry in just 15 minutes at 25C. This coating system was ideal for the Linfox BevChain Laverton project where fast turnaround was required.
Spray Application and Quantity
Dulux® Protective Coatings Victorian Regional Manager, Chris Eldred supplied 8,500 litres of Metalshield HB Blue for the project, which was spray applied in the yard. The coating system provided excellent protection against harsh environmental conditions, ensuring the durability and longevity of the facility.
