The Mastermind Behind the Staircase
iFab Steel played a crucial role in the fabrication and application process of the impressive staircase. With their expertise, they handled a massive 14 tonnes of rolled, cut, and fabricated mild steel to create a truly remarkable staircase that enhances the aesthetics of the building.
Collaboration with Dulux® Protective Coatings
Working in collaboration with Peta Bray, the Light Industrial representative from Dulux® Protective Coatings, iFab Steel utilised a specified coating system to provide the perfect finish for the staircase. This collaboration ensured that the staircase not only looked visually appealing but also had exceptional durability and weather resistance.
Flawless Coating Finish
To achieve a flawless finish, sections of the staircase underwent abrasive blasting and were primed in Dulux® Durebild® STE at 125-microns (µm), a surface-tolerant epoxy designed for Australian and New Zealand conditions. The final topcoating, Dulux® Quantum® V92 at 100-microns (µm), tinted to Arena Blue, was meticulously applied to give the staircase its impressive appearance, while ensuring outstanding gloss and color retention even in exterior exposure.
Meticulous On-Site Work and Collaboration
iFab Steel partnered with a local electrostatic painting company to ensure a seamless application of the coatings. The company used its own product, colour-matched to Arena Blue, to achieve a uniform finish that perfectly complemented the staircase. On-site bodywork, priming, and reapplication of the V92 were carried out with meticulous attention to detail to ensure a perfect result.
