Rooftop Entertainment Area: A Luxurious Oasis

One of the standout features of the Canvas luxury apartments is the expansive rooftop entertainment area. Offering breathtaking views of Newstead and the City, this space is designed to provide residents with the ultimate luxury lifestyle. From the designer pool and heated spa to the sauna, sunken lounges, BBQ areas, and dining spaces, every aspect of this rooftop oasis has been carefully curated to create a haven of relaxation and entertainment.

The Staircase: An Architectural Marvel

iFab Steel, a skilled fabricator/applicator, was given the responsibility of creating the staircase for the Canvas luxury apartments. The staircase, weighing an impressive 4.05 tonnes, showcases the careful attention to detail and exceptional craftsmanship put into its construction.

Coatings Ensuring Longevity and Aesthetic Appeal

To ensure the staircase's longevity and aesthetic appeal, a carefully selected coating system was employed. Working closely with Dulux® Protective Coating's Light Industrial representative, Peta Bray, the team at iFab Steel ensured that the staircase received the best possible protection.

The coating process included:

•    First coat: Dulux® Zincanode® 402 at a thickness of 75-microns (µm), a two-pack epoxy zinc-rich primer known for its cathodic corrosion resistance in harsh environments. This primer provided a solid foundation for the subsequent coats, ensuring the staircase's durability.

•    Intermediate coat: Dulux® Durebild® STE at a thickness of 125-microns (µm), a high surface-tolerance epoxy, was used as the colour-matched intermediate coat. This intermediate coat offered both durability and protection for the staircase, ensuring that it would withstand the test of time.

•    Topcoat: Dulux® Luxathane® SPX applied at a thickness of 50-microns (µm). This high-performance two-component acrylic polyurethane offers a smooth satin finish, perfect for commercial and industrial environments where extended service periods are required. Luxathane SPX not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the staircase but also provides a durable and long-lasting finish.

A Seamless and Professional Finish

To ensure a seamless and professional finish, collaboration with a local electrostatic painting company was necessary. Their specialised equipment allowed for the precise application of Luxathane SPX, guaranteeing a flawless result that further enhances the staircase's stunning aesthetic.

"The precision of iFab Steel, combined with the careful selection of protective coatings such as Zincanode 402 primer, Durebild STE, and Luxathane SPX, guarantees not only the staircase's durability but also its stunning aesthetic,” explains Peta Bray.
