Entries are now open for the 35th annual Dulux Colour Awards!

Entries are now open for the 35th annual Dulux Colour Awards, inviting design professionals including architects, interior designers, specifiers and students from Australia and New Zealand, to submit work that celebrates sophisticated and masterful use of colour across interior and exterior commercial, public and residential spaces.

These awards showcase inspirational colour application in built environments, including the use of colour in protective coatings.

Last year, four incredible Dulux Protective Coatings pieces made the cut, from seaside public artworks to heavy duty zoo enclosures, each was a stunning display of vibrancy and functionality.

Mutualities, located in Perth’s Montario Quarter, is an art installation that gives a nod to the site’s history helping patients recover from spinal conditions. The aluminium posts, topcoated with Dulux Weathermax HBR, feature nine different Dulux colours drawing from the old hospital signage and surrounding parkland. Read the full story.

On Sydney’s iconic Bondi to Bronte Coastal Walk, three new fitness stations make up the Coastal Walk Fitness Stations colour awards entry. The multi coloured signage, created with Luxafloor PTX, is designed to fit in as well as stand out against the elements using bright Dulux colours. Read on about the project.

The South Perth foreshore canopies are an unexpected site for visitors. A giant frilled-neck lizard, over 20m long and 10m tall is protected with Weathermax HBR and accompanied by an equally giant Numbat. These native animals don’t just look good, they act as wide canopies providing shade and shelter. Find out more about this project.

In the Commercial Interior – Workplace and Retail category “Perth Zoo Lion Exhibit” posed some unusual environmental hazards including sharp claws and teeth! With a durable finish of Weathermax HBR, Perth Zoo can continue to focus on their world-class breeding program while their structure is protected for many years to come. Read more about this project.
